Hey all y’all,

I know e-mailin’ ain’t a very personal way to say thank you, but… here goes. If I had known that there would be a retirement party for me, the likes of the one yesterday afternoon, when I started with Atlantic, (Crown) Packaging, I would have worked just as hard. I really, really, really do thank each one of you, for the kind words and the place of honor that I felt, and still feel, and will feel for the rest of my life. You have all meant a lot to me over the years, and now have made all my dreams for the Autumn of my life come true. I will miss every one of you. I will keep praying for Atlantic every day. I am blessed to know you as my friends, and be associated with you as my Atlantic family. All of your kind words reminded me of another Bible verse; Proverbs 25:11 “A word aptly spoken is like apples of gold in pitchers of silver”. I will always cherish them.

Most high Blessings to you all,

Joe

40 Years from Atlantic Packaging on Vimeo.

January 15th marked Billy Vaught’s 40th year with Atlantic.

Yep, he has survived the growth of Myrtle Beach, our exodus from the Strand, the growth of textiles and the disappearance of sewing. He has seen lots of moves and lots of changes from the days that Saturday morning in the office was a sales rep requirement and truck driving came with the territory.

Through it all, Billy has been one of the most loyal and dedicated mem- bers of the Atlantic team. Billy Vaught is a friend to all. Even though he heard WHC tell him many times that he moved too slow, his speed never changed.

He has gone from chubby to thin and from dark to grey (not bald yet) but in all seasons, steady he surely is.

We will celebrate Billy’s 40th Anniversary at noon on February 4th with a lunch and a roast (not pig, but Billy) by the Jacobs Building. All Tabor City employees are invited to attend and we look forward to good fun.
